Embattled Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki and Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, on Sunday met at Government House, Port Harcourt.
Recall that Obaseki was last week disqualified from contesting for the governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) due to alleged discrepancies in his certificates.
The Edo State governor, who arrived Government House, Port Harcourt at about 2:00pm on Sunday, was received by his host, Wike at the Governor’s official residence.
Both governors immediately went into a closed door meeting, which was still ongoing as at the time of filing this report.
A source close to Government House, Port Harcourt, said Obaseki’s visit may not be unconnected with his plans to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) follow calls by a faction of APC in Edo State for his expulsion from the party for alleged anti-party activities.
