Police arrest man for allegedly killing farmer in Jigawa

The police in Jigawa on Friday said they had arrested a herdsman, Usman Lamido, 30, in connection with the killing of a farmer, Abubakar Dauda, along Adyani Feeder Road in Guri Local Government area of Jigawa. The spokesman for the police in the state, SP Abdu Jinjiri, told the incident occurred on Thursday, Dec. 5. Operatives of Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Special Task Force on Pipeline Vandalization,  at Ukenurhie community in Ughelli North Council area of Delta state, arrested two suspected illegal refinery dealers and an estimated 30,000litres of locally-refined diesel. The Borno Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has paraded two men over alleged diversion of learning materials distributed to displaced pupils by the UNICEF. A 23-year-old man, Yunusa Sanni, on Tuesday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing items worth N10 million from a shop.
