Following his re-election, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State on Friday paid a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja to thank him for the peaceful conduct of the Edo governorship election.
Mr Obaseki was re-elected on September 19 on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after being kicked out of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
After the meeting, the governor told State House correspondents that it would be “immoral” for him to return to the APC.
Obaseki met the president accompanied by his deputy Philip Shuaibu.
They were joined by their spouses and some lawmakers from the state.
